We are so excited to tie the knot and cannot wait to toast with our nearest and dearest! As we have decided to get married in the UK, we have created this website so that all information can be easily shared between our invitees across Britain and down-under. Have a flick through the website and let us know via the RSVP page if you are able to celebrate with us. We would be thrilled if you could be a part of our big day and look forward to seeing you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . For our Aussie based friends, we understand you may not be able to make it to our wedding in the UK. Rest assured that we will be continuing the celebrations in Australia shortly after returning, details of which are yet to come!
David had just returned to Sydney, after completing his farm work in the middle of rural New South Wales. To celebrate arriving back to the metropolis he drank himself silly and wound up in the infamous Arq Sydney nightclub where he stood (or did his best to) above the crowd in the eyes of Chay. Chay, with his trusty wing-man, whispered to his once good friend “he is gorgeous, I’m going to buy him a drink!”. After a confident approach towards David, drinks in hand, wing-man at his side, Chay left David with his friend before heading to the bathroom... ...upon his return, Chay found David and once dependable wing-man kissing on the dance floor. This was NOT the plan Chay had in mind!! The following morning Chay reached out to David to clarify who had bought him the drink and to let him know that it was great to meet him. Dumb-struck and embarrassed to learn that the gesture was in fact from Chay and not his companion, David arranged a take away night for himself and Chay. After much grovelling and a Chinese food fuelled apology Chay was happy to forgive the night prior and to see where things went…even after David painted his cream carpets in hoisin sauce! It was then that David knew the that best way to Chay’s heart is through a Chinese take away and Chay understood David will always be a klutz!
It was the perfect set up: a sunny New York day in Central Park, violinist fiddling, rose petals scattered and the photographer poised waiting to capture the big moment. This was the beautiful scene that Chay and David walked past whilst crossing the Bow Bridge on their way to an afternoon row-boat excursion! After rowing out onto the Lake, basking in the sunshine David was interrupted by Chay who was holding out a ring in the palm of his hand. Grinning from ear to ear and asking him for his hand, Chay awkwardly attempted a one knee stance while trying to keep the boat afloat. David laughed, confused at where in the boat this ring had been found and cautioned Chay not to touch something that he didn’t know where it had been! Now teary, Chay persisted ‘David, this is real, will you marry me?’ Eventually David understood what was happening and that Chay had in fact carried the ring through Sydney, London, Paris, very quickly over the Bow Bridge and then onto this boat in New York’s Central Park!! David yelped “Oh my God, yes of course!” Ring on finger they paddled back to the dock now engaged to be married. . . . . . . . . . . . . . We have decided to both wear matching engagement rings and bands which have been mutually selected in a style and finish we both love. Come through equality!
